In order to help Borough residents and businesses during the new COVID-19 restrictions, New Hope is designating ten parking spaces throughout the Main Street business district for curbside pick-up, offering free parking for 15 minutes, starting Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. until further notice.
On Dec. 10, Governor Tom Wolf announced new restrictions to help limit the spread of coronavirus, as the number of infections, hospitalizations and deaths continue to set record highs. Among the new restrictions is a ban on indoor restaurant dining, taking effect on Dec. 12 and continuing until at least Jan. 4.
Takeout service and outdoor dining are still permitted under the new restrictions. Retail stores are permitted to operate, but at no more than 50 percent of their lawful occupancy.
To help New Hope's restaurants as they meet these new challenges, the Borough has designated free short-term parking spots for meal pick-ups. Eight spots are located along South Main Street, one on North Main Street and the tenth is on West Bridge Street.
The spots are located near clusters of restaurants that offer take out service, and will be clearly marked. Residents and visitors are encouraged to respect the 15-minute time limit to allow our local restaurants to promptly serve their customers.
