Federal Disaster Assistance Available for Ida-Related Damage

A Major Disaster declaration has been issued for Bucks County in the aftermath of storms and flooding from the remnanats of Hurricane Ida on Sept. 1.

Residents and businesses who suffered damage from these storms are eligible to apply for federal disaster assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or online at disasterassistance.gov.

Please have the following available:

  • Your address with zip code
  • Directions to your property
  • Condition of your damaged home
  • Insurance information, if available
  • Social Security number
  • Phone number where you can be contacted
  • Address where you can get mail

More information is available from this flier distributed by state and federal emergency management agencies.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) residential inspectors have begun working in the Southeast portion of Pennsylvania to assess damage.

As residents register with FEMA, a FEMA contracted inspector will contact them to set up an inspection of their residence. They will be carrying FEMA identification or a FEMA contractor badge. If they don’t have a FEMA I.D., and they don’t show it when asked, they probably aren’t a FEMA inspector. Please be aware that contractor scams and fraud schemes are not uncommon after a disaster.
